AnnouncementsGreetings, all my dear Readers & #Galentines! February is here and my Valentine to you is a special promotion. DUKE OF SCANDAL (Moonlight Square, Book #1) will be just .99 on Amazon US, Canada, and India all month long. It's a great chance to dive into my latest series! This is a story about a decadent lost soul of a duke and his best friend's younger sister, who has always been in love with him. Can Felicity Carvel finally bring the King of the Rakehells to heel? ROYAL BRIDESMAIDS REISSUE ~ SPOTTED IN THE WILD! Back by popular demand! Avon/HarperCollins has reissued ROYAL BRIDESMAIDS, an anthology of 3 novellas about historical weddings that I participated in with the great Stephanie Laurens and Loretta Chase, back when Prince William first married the amazing Kate! It's out now with a beautiful new cover, and my wonderful readers have been sending me "shelfies" from all around the country! Thank you for the pix, Toni, Tina, Rachel, and Demetra! Take a peek in the bookshelf section near you, next time you're out and about at the bookstore, grocery store, Walmart, Target, etc... But hurry, they won't last long. (These sorts of things usually sell out within a few weeks.) CONGRATULATIONS to the winner of my big December Giveaway! Julie A. of North Carolina won the complete, autographed set of Knight Miscellany first editions. Thanks for reading! Fun Stuff!FEBRUARY GIVEAWAY! Question: If you could magically enter one of these historical story worlds, which one would you pick: Outlander, Pride & Prejudice, or Downton Abbey? :) Comment below, and you'll be automatically entered into a random drawing at the end of the month, where I'll be giving away a signed copy of one of my books! Wow...Recently, I came across two "wow" articles I just had to share because I knew you guys would love them. I sure did! 1) Though we unfortunately can't *actually* go back in time like Claire in Outlander, lucky travelers today can take a romantic getaway in these real English castles that have been turned into hotels. You can check them out here. They're gorgeous! 9 Stunning Castle Hotels in England that Take You Back in Time Is this not the most romantic idea for how to spend Valentine's Day with YOUR real-life hero ~ or, if not, your favorite Regency lord! I can think of a few... 2) As a history lover, I was blown away when I came across this amazing project by Becca Saladin, who recreated the portraits of 30 very famous people from history as if they were alive today. Super cool and so creative! I don't know HOW she did it, but it's amazing. Check out Napoleon (!!) and our very favorite (below), the one and only Jane Austen. Such a sweet face! Here's What Julius Caesar and Others Would Look Like Today Before I go...
Since it's the month of all things romantic, I just wanted to acknowledge you for reading in this genre. It's so easy in today's cynical era to let oneself become jaded about the importance of Love, Truth, Beauty ~ the three main values that the Romantic poets themselves continuously proclaimed to the world. We still stand for those ideals today, you and I, simply by daring to believe in the power of love and the possibility of happily ever after. So, no matter how the cynics might like to poke fun at historical romance ~ or us ~ it doesn't matter. We're the civilized ones. We're the ones whose hearts are in good working order, not hardened by all the snark and alienation of the post-modern age. What we cherish is timeless and true. Hold the light! Much love to you all, Gaelen

Hi: it does not seem to matter what subject you decide to base your fabulous stories on, just keep them coming. My husband made me a book case to keep them on as I lend them to my friends but ask them to return them so others can read them also. Just keep them coming Gaelen, as I know I always feel good when I finish one of your books and cannot wait for the next one. Thanks for all your work and getting them out to us. Faye

Definitely Pride and Prejudice. Love the clothes, love the manners, love the romance. When men were men and treated women like ladies! Would just have to have modern plumbing! ;-)

Hi Helen! Good point about the plumbing, lol! It would certainly be fun to visit Pride & Prejudice world. Miss Lizzie Bennett would soon begin to wonder why there were a horde of strange women in unfamiliar garb following Mr. Darcy around... I'd be one of them right there along with you! *gg* Thanks for visiting my blog and reading my books!

Aw, that's very sweet of you to say, Linda. Unfortunately, I don't have a release date for Peter Carvel's book. I have been very busy on other projects that have pulled me away from writing romance. I will certainly make a big announcement when I have more info. Thank you so much for reading my books. I'm honored to be your favorite author. Much joy!

Probably Downton Abbey would be the funnest to live in. Though I’ve been reading Outlander for eight years and rereading them. Those are my favorites. I’ve really enjoyed reading your Inferno club and The Moonlight Square series. I’ve have three all time favorites. My Dangerous Duke was so fun adventurous. Remind me of Tomb Raider. The Moonlight Square The Duke of Secrets was also adventurous. I love the books that had a mystery to solve, dangerous, adventurous. Please write more of those. If you’re looking for ideas on what to write next.
