Wishing all my readers and web visitors as happy an Easter as you can manage at this strange time ~ and a happy Passover, too. Next year, God willing, we'll be able to celebrate properly with all those we love.
For now, we'll have to make do with our quarantine-mates and favorite book characters! Happy reading...

Hello, darlings! I have some *really* exciting news to tell you (or rather, show you) very soon.
No, it's not a new book quite yet.
I'm still working hard on Major Peter Carvel, or should I say he's working hard on me! (Sheesh, tough & complex book. But I guess that's fitting for a tough and complex hero. Huge amount of research for this one. Ah well, it'll be worth it!)

Writerly moanings aside, I just wanted to give you a heads-up that  something cool is on the way, so make sure you're subscribed to my newsletter, because ~ as promised ~ my subscribers get the juicy stuff first.

"I'm always there for my friends and family, my men and my country, whenever anyone needs help. But, I admit, I do rather enjoy driving my author insane.

Oddly, I seem to have the same effect on a certain young lady who has just moved into Moonlight Square. At least this girl's not afraid of me. Hmm...
Wonder why."

GIVEAWAYS

Congrats to the two winners of my February signed book giveaway, Faye and Helen. Yaaay! Congratulations to you both, and as soon as you two lovelies email me your address, I'll send those right out to you. Thanks for participating. :)

But the fun doesn't end there! In honor of St. Patrick's Day in March, I'll be gifting one lucky subscriber a Kindle eBook copy of DUKE OF STORM. Why? Because lusty, roguish Connor is Irish, of course! He's got the Irish charm, the blue eyes (with the requisite devilish twinkle, of course), and all the Irish fight. Which has long come in handy for him, since he's spent his life as a soldier before inheriting his uncle's dukedom. Too bad for Connor that his new title comes with a curse. Luck o' the Irish!

And Now, a Brief Note from Captain Obvious.
Changes are in play here on my erstwhile blog, friends. This page will now become a simple Announcements & News space. Since one book a year just isn't cuttin' it (ugh!!), this will allow me to focus all the more on writing my books and getting them out to you faster! I trust you guys will be okay with that. :) Thanks.

That's all I got!
Best wishes to you as we finally close in on Spring. It's been a mild winter here, but I am so ready for daffodils and tulips. Come on, Vernal Equinox! *g*

Wishing you much joy and, as always, happy reading,
Gaelen

Greetings, all my dear Readers & #Galentines!

February is here and my Valentine to you is a special promotion. DUKE OF SCANDAL (Moonlight Square, Book #1) will be just .99 on Amazon US, Canada, and India all month long. It's a great chance to dive into my latest series!

This is a story about a decadent lost soul of a duke and his best friend's younger sister, who has always been in love with him. Can Felicity Carvel finally bring the King of the Rakehells to heel?

ROYAL BRIDESMAIDS REISSUE ~ SPOTTED IN THE WILD!
Back by popular demand! Avon/HarperCollins has reissued ROYAL BRIDESMAIDS, an anthology of 3 novellas about historical weddings that I participated in with the great Stephanie Laurens and Loretta Chase, back when Prince William first married the amazing Kate!

It's out now with a beautiful new cover, and my wonderful readers have been sending me "shelfies" from all around the country!

Thank you for the pix, Toni, Tina, Rachel, and Demetra!

Take a peek in the bookshelf section near you, next time you're out and about at the bookstore, grocery store, Walmart, Target, etc... But hurry, they won't last long. (These sorts of things usually sell out within a few weeks.)

FEBRUARY GIVEAWAY!
Question: If you could magically enter one of these historical story worlds, which one would you pick: Outlander, Pride & Prejudice, or Downton Abbey? :)

Comment below, and you'll be automatically entered into a random drawing at the end of the month, where I'll be giving away a signed copy of one of my books!

Wow...

Recently, I came across two "wow" articles I just had to share because I knew you guys would love them.  I sure did!

1) Though we unfortunately can't *actually* go back in time like Claire in Outlander, lucky travelers today can take a romantic getaway in these real English castles that have been turned into hotels. You can check them out here. They're gorgeous!
9 Stunning Castle Hotels in England that Take You Back in Time
Is this not the most romantic idea for how to spend Valentine's Day with YOUR real-life hero ~ or, if not, your favorite Regency lord! I can think of a few...

2) As a history lover, I was blown away when I came across this amazing project by Becca Saladin, who recreated the portraits of 30 very famous people from history as if they were alive today. Super cool and so creative! I don't know HOW she did it, but it's amazing. Check out Napoleon (!!) and our very favorite (below), the one and only Jane Austen. Such a sweet face!

Before I go...

Since it's the month of all things romantic, I just wanted to acknowledge you for reading in this genre. It's so easy in today's cynical era to let oneself become jaded about the importance of Love, Truth, Beauty ~ the three main values that the Romantic poets themselves continuously proclaimed to the world. We still stand for those ideals today, you and I, simply by daring to believe in the power of love and the possibility of happily ever after. So, no matter how the cynics might like to poke fun at historical romance ~ or us ~ it doesn't matter. We're the civilized ones. We're the ones whose hearts are in good working order, not hardened by all the snark and alienation of the post-modern age. What we cherish is timeless and true. Hold the light!

Much love to you all,
Gaelen
